Role Description The Behavioral Health Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Merrimack, NH. This role involves implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of licensed or certified clinical professionals, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) or other qualified clinicians. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing direct 1:1 support to clients, collecting and recording behavioral and skill acquisition data, and reinforcing positive behaviors in alignment with treatment goals. The Behavioral Health Technician will assist with structured activities, support clients in developing communication, social, and daily living skills, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. The role also includes collaborating with clinical staff and families, participating in team meetings and trainings, and following all organizational policies, ethical guidelines, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, with the ability to apply behavior principles in daily interactions.
- Understanding of Psychology and behavioral health concepts relevant to working with diverse client populations.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear documentation, active listening, and professional interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Experience or training in Behavioral Intervention, including implementing behavior plans and using de-escalation and reinforcement strategies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- Ability to follow clinical direction, accept feedback, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Capacity to perform physically active duties, including standing, moving with clients, and supporting clients during activities, as appropriate to the setting.
- Previous experience in behavioral health, ABA, or working with individuals with developmental or behavioral needs is preferred but not required.
- Reliable attendance, strong organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
