Job Description:
The Post Closing Specialist is responsible for supporting real estate transactions by providing a range of administrative and/or support duties to assist title processes as part of a Production Center, branch office, or member of a Title Team. Additionally, responsible for reviewing recordable documents for accuracy, completion of required state/county forms, submitting documents through preferred recording method (county or electronic platform), minor resolution of issues, reviewing signed loan and title company documents to ensure accuracy, and the resolution of various post-closing issues, and shipping of documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor a pipeline of loans to ensure critical documents are received and reviewed timely for disbursement.
- Appropriately prioritize a pipeline of loans to support Service Level Agreement targets.
- Communicate with local offices, notaries and Signing Providers to receive signed documents timely.
- Complete a Compliance Review to confirm all funds are collected, all appropriate documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are collected, and acknowledgements and legal descriptions are correct in the critical document set to determine if resolution is required prior to disbursement.
- Responsible for owning resolution on defects identified during the Compliance Review of critical documents.
- Drive resolution for the customer, agency and client by engaging appropriate parties to include Fulfillment partners, borrowers, notaries, underwriting and other parties.
- Communicate current status of each loan to internal and external partners.
- Must become an expert in Lender guidelines and knowledgeable with regard to mortgage recording requirements.
- Deliver an accurate and error-free product to our customers.
- Ensure that procedures are appropriately followed to minimize operational loss.
- Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to preparation of the ALTA Settlement Statement in tandem with the Closing Disclosure and other closing documents.
Skills and Requirements:
- Must have 1-2 years of prior experience in the closing/processing area of a title company, the post-closing area of a financial institution, or the real estate loan documentation area of a financial institution.
- Customer service oriented.
- Able to handle confidential information.
- Thorough knowledge of transactional work and product/service standards and ability to apply standards in non-standard situations.
- Ability to apply company standards and applicable regularity and statutory requirements related to the functional area.
- PC literate with basic Word and Excel skills.
- Effective written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to proactively resolve problems.
- Ability to operate within tight deadlines, have attention to detail and be self-motivated.
- High school diploma; degree preferred.
