The Service Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all service department activities in a way that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The Service Manager is responsible for the profit and loss performance of the department.
Essential Duties
- Ensures proper procedures are followed and correct policies are in place to meet customer, OEM requirements and Nextran's requirements.
- Monitors and maintains efficiency and productivity goals.
- Monitors performance vs. budget on a daily basis.
- Interfaces with customers to provide the best level of service available and to resolve customer disputes.
- Ensures high level of service from the Service Advisors.
- Monitors warranty operation.
- Provides technical support and assistance to Service Department.
- Ensures technicians are certified and necessary training classes are scheduled and attended.
- Selects, hires and trains qualified personnel. Participates in annual performance review process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidates have the following:
- Minimum seven years heavy-duty mechanical experience
- Three to five years of demonstrated managerial experience
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Computer experience and knowledge of MS Office
- Valid CDL license
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent - college or technical training preferred
- Customer-focused mindset
- Self-motivated, willingness to learn, and ability to follow-up and follow through
- Strong organizational and time management skills
