Associate Attorney – Commercial Lending
A respected and growing mid-sized law firm in the Southeast is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Commercial Lending practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated financing transactions while building long-term relationships with established banking clients.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience handling commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, and related financing transactions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience handling commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, and related financing transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial loan documents including loan agreements, promissory notes, guaranties, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements
- Structure and document complex lending transactions including construction loans, revolving credit facilities, asset-based loans, and subordinated debt arrangements
- Conduct due diligence related to borrowers, collateral, title, corporate structure, and financial documentation
- Review UCC searches, title reports, and corporate records
- Identify legal and transactional risks associated with lending matters
- Assist with workouts, restructurings, and troubled loan matters
- Collaborate closely with lenders, underwriters, analysts, and internal legal teams
- Stay current on applicable banking and lending regulations
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in Tennessee or Georgia, with willingness to obtain reciprocal licensure if needed
- Minimum 4 years of relevant commercial lending experience
- Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
