Senior Associate, IT Strategic Sourcing

Location: Downtown Detroit, MI (Onsite)

We are seeking a Senior Associate, IT Strategic Sourcing to support the execution of enterprise-wide IT sourcing initiatives across hardware, software, telecom/networking, cloud services, and IT professional services. This individual will play a key role in supporting sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, RFx activities, contract management, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will be able to quickly integrate into active sourcing initiatives, operate with limited oversight, and provide continuity across ongoing procurement and strategic sourcing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support IT business stakeholders in executing sourcing strategies aligned with financial, operational, and governance objectives.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes, and systems across IT category spend.
• Support the end-to-end strategic sourcing lifecycle, including RFx execution, supplier evaluation, contracting coordination, and procurement activities.
• Assist with vendor renewals to achieve cost savings while minimizing business disruption.
• Participate in supplier business reviews and help prepare supporting analyses, materials, and recommendations.
• Analyze spend, supplier, and contract data to identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
• Execute sourcing initiatives aligned with financial, risk, compliance, and operational goals.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking, and competitive analysis to support sourcing decisions.
• Support supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable contractual terms.
• Review procurement intake requests and gather business requirements from stakeholders.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and facilitate vendor selection processes.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding activities with cross-functional teams.
• Provide stakeholders with updates regarding sourcing requests, project timelines, and procurement status.
• Partner closely with sourcing leadership to align category strategies, requirements, and performance targets.

Required Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in IT Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management within a large or global organization.
• Demonstrated experience supporting sourcing initiatives across IT categories, including:
• Hardware
• Software
• Telecom and Networking
• Cloud Services (Private and Public Cloud)
• IT Professional Services
• Experience supporting RFx processes, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology suppliers and current IT market trends.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational and project execution capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to fast-paced environments with minimal onboarding.
• Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing spend, supplier, and contract data.
• Experience supporting procurement compliance and governance requirements.
• Familiarity with supplier performance management and Service Level Agreement (SLA) development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within regulated or highly governed business environments.
• Exposure to strategic sourcing transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of procurement systems, sourcing tools, and contract management platforms.
• Experience supporting cost savings and supplier optimization programs.
