A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their Credit Fund team as Director of Investments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight in evaluating potential commercial real estate (CRE) debt investments, ensuring rigorous due diligence and timely execution.
- Originate, structure, and review financing proposals for internal approval by the Fund’s Credit Committee and for external presentation to debt and equity partners.
- Manage, mentor, and develop senior associates and analysts, guiding underwriting, financial modeling, and transaction-level due diligence.
- Lead the preparation of concise and comprehensive Investment Memoranda and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial models presented to the Investment Committee.
- Oversee ongoing analysis of portfolio performance, market dynamics, and credit conditions across the loan portfolio.
- Partner closely with origination, underwriting, and executive leadership (CEO, CFO, COO) to advance strategic initiatives and business objectives.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for borrowers, proactively addressing complex issues and mitigating risk throughout the life of transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; advanced degree or professional designations (e.g., CFA, CCIM) preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial lending, real estate finance, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in CRE debt.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including direct management or supervision of associates and analysts.
- Proven ability to originate, underwrite, structure, and close complex CRE debt transactions.
- Strong work ethic with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative capabilities, including expertise in financial modeling, credit analysis, and portfolio management.
Salary : $200,000 - $300,000
