The Specialist, Rotating Equipment will support Reliability Engineers, Specialist - Condition Monitoring and Rotating Equipment Engineers to ensure optimum rotating equipment performance and quality of maintenance execution. The position will be based in Brownsville, TX., permanently.

The Specialist, Rotating Equipment reporting to the Manager Reliability provides frontline specialist technical expertise in rotating equipment Operations and Maintenance. The Specialist, Rotating Equipment will support Reliability Engineers, Specialist - Condition Monitoring and Rotating Equipment Engineers to ensure optimum rotating equipment performance and quality of maintenance execution. The position will be based in Brownsville, TX., permanently.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Rotating Equipment Engineering team, the improvements in Rotating Equipment Maintenance Strategies and Work instructions
- Lead Turnaround and major maintenance planning of rotating equipment
- Lead management of Long Term Service Contracts, Service Bulletins, and Rotating Equipment special tools, with the support from the Rotating equipment engineers
- Develop and optimize Rotating Equipment Turnaround work scopes with support from Maintenance and discipline engineers
- Develop and maintain Maintenance QA/QC plans / records for Turnarounds, Corrective and Planned Maintenance for Rotating Equipment
- Oversee Rotating equipment alignment and execution. Validate alignment, clearances during and post-maintenance in line with the QA /QC plans
- Support Maintenance Execution team for the repair/overhaul and refurbishment of Rotating Equipment during normal plant operations and plant Outages.
- Manage Rotating Equipment Spare parts preservation quality assurance
- Interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and support BOM development, ensure correct part numbers and monitor inventory to align with maintenance strategies
- Drive Vendor workshop quality assurance, with the support from Discipline Rotating equipment engineers
- Provide field support for unplanned events or equipment upsets
- Support management of Company Condition Monitoring programs for Rotating equipment.
- Participate and contribute in RCA studies and RCM workshops
- Support the efforts geared to achieving Key Performance targets for the RGLNG Reliability Team
- Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline or Trade certification or equivalent industry experience
- 10 years of hands on Rotating Equipment Operations and Maintenance support experience with an OEM or plant Operator.
- 3 years LNG experience.
- 5 years of experience in Maintenance and Operations support in the upstream or midstream oil and gas or downstream petrochemical sectors.
- RCA facilitation experience
- SAP S4 HANA Experience
- Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions
- Operates in a complex construction environment
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions
- Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits
- Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction
- Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios
- Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations
- Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift
- The incumbent is required to have fully mechanical motion and usage of all extremities
- Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. without assistance
- Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods
- May be required to enter confined spaces
- May be required to work at elevated heights and access elevated structures without assistance
