NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) / Medical Front Office professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities
The Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) / Medical Front Office team member serves as both a clinical radiology support professional and front office representative in the urgent care setting. This role focuses on performing radiologic duties within scope while ensuring efficient front office operations and a positive patient experience.
Clinical (Radiology) Responsibilities:
- Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice as outlined in company policies and procedures, as well as applicable state radiation rules and regulations.
- Assist the provider with radiology-related procedures and processes under direct supervision and within scope of practice.
- Adheres to all safety protocols related to radiologic procedures and patient care.
- Monitors and reports unusual patient occurrences related to imaging services and documents appropriately.
- Ensures compliance with applicable radiology, laboratory, and clinical accreditation standards.
- Maintains proficiency in EMR/EHR systems.
Front Office & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment.
- Obtains and accurately enters patient demographic and insurance information into the EMR system.
- Monitors patient flow, including coordinating room placement as appropriate and keeping patients informed of wait times.
- Processes patient discharge, including charge entry, payment collection, obtaining signatures, and issuing receipts.
- Completes insurance documentation to support accurate reimbursement.
- Prepares daily deposits, reconciliations, and statistical reports.
- Manages appointments, including those scheduled online.
- Answers phones professionally and responds to patient inquiries.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the front office, waiting areas, and restrooms.
- Ensures adequate inventory of front office supplies and proper functioning of equipment.

Essential Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; AND diploma or certificate from an accredited radiology school and/or equivalent experience.
License: Certified Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR)
Certification: Current healthcare professional level CPR certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety Health Institute or National Safety
