What You'll Do
As the Controller, you will oversee all accounting operations while ensuring accurate financial reporting and scalable processes that support continued growth. You will partner closely with the CFO to provide financial insight, improve efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls. You will also mentor and develop a small, collaborative accounting team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting operations, including General Ledger, AP, AR, Payroll, and Month-End Close.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
- Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and strategic financial initiatives including acquisitions.
- Manage the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes as the company continues to grow.
- Develop and mentor a small accounting team while fostering a collaborative culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience leading month-end close and production of accrual based financial statements.
- A hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes and building scalable accounting functions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization.
- Systems savvy, experience with systems implementations a plus.
