A growing CPA firm based in Carlsbad, with corporate clients across multiple states, is seeking a Staff Auditor to join its expanding team.

Responsibilities
- Manage assigned audit clients, including scheduling, communication, and issue resolution
- Ensure completion of key audit components (bank confirmations, predecessor auditor letters, invoice vouching, reserve study entry, etc.)
- Review internal control questionnaires before and during audits
- Prepare and review audit workpapers and documentation
- Perform audit procedures across all financial statement areas (accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, prepaid insurance, cash)
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Document audit tests, findings, and conclusions
- Prepare planning workpapers, including materiality assessments
- Perform subsequent events testing and equity reconciliations
- Record journal entries for audit adjustments
- Prepare audited financial statements
- Collaborate with audit managers on issues, planning strategies, and process improvements
- Partner with internal teams including admin, engagement coordination, and tax
- Communicate directly with clients via email, phone, and in-person meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA designation
- 1-3 years of progressive audit experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
