What are the responsibilities and job description for the Room Inspector position at Next Generation Recruitment and Staffing Agency?
As our Room Inspector, you're the quality gatekeeper for 338 guest rooms in one of Baltimore's most iconic downtown hotels. Physically connected to the Baltimore Convention Center and steps from the Inner Harbor, Camden Yards, and the National Aquarium, our property serves a high volume of convention, business, and leisure travelers year-round — guests who expect every detail dialed in from the moment they open the door.
You'll inspect every turned room against Sheraton and Marriott brand standards, partner with housekeeping leadership to coach room attendants, and serve as the critical link between the cleaning team and the front desk to ensure flawless room releases.
What You'll Do
Inspect guest rooms post-turnover for cleanliness, maintenance readiness, and compliance with Sheraton brand standards
Verify Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience beds, linens, pillow placement, amenity kits, and in-room technology are correctly set
Flag and document maintenance issues — HVAC, plumbing, fixtures, carpet stains, wall damage — for immediate resolution
Provide real-time coaching and hands-on feedback to room attendants to maintain and elevate team performance
Coordinate room status with the housekeeping supervisor and front desk, managing rush cleans, VIP preps, and convention blocks
Maintain accurate inspection logs and surface quality trends to housekeeping leadership
Support deep-cleaning rotations, large-scale convention turnovers, and property-wide quality initiatives
1 year of housekeeping or room inspection experience in a full-service hotel — Marriott/Sheraton brand experience is a strong plus
Exceptional attention to detail — you notice the smudge on the mirror, the crooked remote, the missing pen
High-volume mindset — comfortable managing quality across 338 rooms during peak convention periods
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs throughout extended shifts
Clear, respectful communication — you coach with care and coordinate across departments seamlessly
Reliable and flexible with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and convention-driven demand
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
