What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager position at NEXHR?
As the Engineering Manager you will lead process integrity and uphold design intent as the site’s technical authority. Ensure PHAs, MOCs, and process safety information are current and applied so every change to conditions, materials, or formulations is technically sound before reaching the plant. Drive safe, compliant, and reliable production through strong standards, asset integrity, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and enforce engineering standards aligned with design intent, regulations, and EHS.
- Lead process safety activities (PSI, PHA, LOPA, incident reviews) and close findings with permanent actions.
- Own mechanical integrity for critical assets; maintain risk‑based inspection and maintenance programs.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and ensure engineered corrective actions for failures.
- Enforce rigorous MOC; ensure technical review, hazard evaluation, and documentation before changes.
- Oversee capital projects to safe startup; require PSSR before returning systems to service.
- Champion process safety as a core engineering responsibility; keep PHAs as living documents.
- Serve as site technical authority; challenge Operations/Maintenance decisions and improve systems, SOPs, and procedures.
- Use data and reliability trends to deliver engineered solutions that improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 10 years in chemical manufacturing/process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, ERP, PSM, and mechanical integrity.
- Proven leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and team development.
- Experience with MOC, PSSR, commissioning, startup, and capital project technical reviews.
