What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Operator position at NexGen Contracting, LLC?
- Ensure all members of the lift team are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with requirements of the current ASME volume.
- Ensure the crane is operating according to the manufacturer’s requirements and the work site regulations.
- Ensures that the crane is in proper operating condition and that regular inspections are performed.
- Verifies that the crane has sufficient capacity to perform the work.
- Halts the crane operation if alerted to an unsafe condition.
- Ensures that area preparations are completed before crane operations commence.
- Ensures that necessary traffic controls are in place.
- Appoints signal people and ensures that they meet the applicable requirements.
- Ensures that rigging is performed by competent personnel.
- Ensures that the load is properly rigged and balanced.
