Senior Structural Designer

Senior Structural Designer | Ogden, UT

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Designer to join our team in Ogden, Utah. This position involves advanced structural design work for large-scale infrastructure projects, including the development of detailed drawings, coordination with multi-discipline teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

This is a 100% on-site position offering a 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance for qualified non-local candidates.

Responsibilities

•    Develop structural design drawings and documentation for steel, concrete, reinforcing steel, cold-formed steel, anchor bolts, and related details

•    Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and standards

•    Coordinate closely with engineers, project teams, clients, and suppliers to integrate technical requirements into design solutions

•    Review existing conditions, as-built drawings, and vendor data for accuracy and completeness

•    Support design reviews, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, proposals, forecasts, and change orders

•    Communicate complex technical issues clearly and recommend effective solutions

•    Mentor junior designers by providing on-the-job training and technical guidance

Qualifications

•    U.S. Citizenship (required due to project security requirements)

•    Ability to obtain and maintain applicable clearances

•    Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID at hire

•    Ability to pass background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

•    Proficiency in TEKLA software for detailing steel and reinforced concrete structures

•    Ability to independently execute detailed designs for complex steel and/or concrete structures

•    Strong knowledge of detailing for Steel Construction, ACI Detailing Manual (SP-66), building Information Modeling (BIM) practices

•    Familiarity with multi-disciplinary project workflows

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Education and Experience:

•    High School Diploma or GED with 12 years of relevant experience, OR

•    Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Active clearance (if applicable)

•    Experience with large-scale infrastructure or industrial design projects

•    Experience with USACE CAD Standard (ERDC/ITL TR-19-7)

•    Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Whole Building Design Guide

Pay

$118,000–$130,000 per year (based on experience)

Schedule

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
