Senior Civil Designer | Ogden, UT

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to support large-scale infrastructure design projects in Ogden, Utah. This position involves complex civil site design, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact engineering work.

This is a 100% on-site position offering a 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and an excellent work/life balance. A relocation allowance is available for qualified non-local candidates.

Responsibilities

•    Perform civil site design for horizontal projects such as rail, telecommunications, and infrastructure

•    Prepare detailed design drawings for grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways

•    Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure coordinated and accurate design deliverables

•    Apply knowledge of construction materials, methods, and sequencing to support design execution

•    Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, FHWA, MUTCD, WBDG UFC)

•    Review and interpret drawings, design specifications, and supporting data

•    Work independently to produce accurate and complete engineering deliverables

•    Participate in design reviews, resolve technical issues, and coordinate with construction and client teams

•    Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting

•    Maintain organized and accurate project documentation

Qualifications

•    U.S. Citizenship (required due to project security requirements)

•    Ability to obtain and maintain applicable clearances

•    Valid Real ID–compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID at hire

•    Ability to pass background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

•    Strong understanding of civil site design and horizontal infrastructure

•    Familiarity with civil codes and standards (AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, FHWA, MUTCD, WBDG UFC)

•    Knowledge of construction materials and sequencing

•    Strong communication and collaboration skills

•    Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications

Education and Experience:

•    High School Diploma or GED and 15 years of related design experience, OR

•    Associate degree and 11 years of related design experience, OR

•    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 6 years of related design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Experience in utility civil engineering or outside plant (OSP) engineering

•    Experience with HDD or jack & bore designs

•    Fielding design experience for rail or telecom projects

•    Experience with GIS integration in design deliverables

•    Associate of Arts in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology

•    Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification (or higher) or process improvement experience

Pay

$100,000–$145,000 per year (based on experience)

Schedule

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
