Pipe Stress Engineer | Ogden, UT

Nexeo HR is assisting with a direct-hire placement for a Pipe Stress Engineer supporting large-scale facility and underground piping infrastructure projects in Ogden, Utah. This role focuses on complex facility piping systems and requires strong expertise in ASME B31.3/B31.1, dynamic pipe stress analysis, and modeling using Bentley AutoPIPE.

This position offers a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform pipe stress analysis in accordance with ASME B31.3 and B31.1
• Model piping systems in Bentley AutoPIPE to verify: 
• Flexibility
• Stability
• Equipment nozzle load compliance
• Work closely with pipe layout designers and pipe support engineers
• Evaluate piping systems for code compliance and constructability
• Participate in design reviews and resolve conflicting design requirements
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
• Review vendor data, drawings, and engineering documentation
• Apply plant and facility piping standards using sound engineering judgment
• Recommend solutions for unconventional materials or unique design challenges

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Structural preferred)
• 6 years of pipe stress analysis experience
• Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 codes
• Hands-on experience using Bentley AutoPIPE
• Experience with facility piping systems (not manufacturing equipment)
• Background working on large, complex facilities such as: 
• Oil & gas or petrochemical plants
• Mining or utility facilities
• Nuclear facilities
• Data centers
• Hospitals or large industrial facilities
• Ability to coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams
• Real ID–compliant driver’s license

Highly Desired

• Previous experience on large EPC projects
• EIT or PE license
• Experience working closely with pipe support and layout teams
• Background in plant or facility design environments

Pay

$118,000 – $185,000 annually

Schedule

Full-Time | 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)
