HVAC Mechanical Engineer (Junior / Senior) | Ogden, UT

Nexeo is seeking Junior and Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineers to support large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to design and develop advanced HVAC and mechanical systems for complex facilities.

In this role, you will design, develop, and integrate HVAC and support systems for mission-critical infrastructure projects. This is an onsite position with a 9x80 schedule, paid overtime, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Collect HVAC, safety, and other system requirements for facilities and support structures

• Design HVAC systems and specify appropriate equipment to meet design and performance criteria

• Procure HVAC equipment in compliance with QA requirements and industry standards

• Prepare technical reports and studies to resolve open mechanical system issues

• Develop and revise ventilation and instrument diagrams, calculations, equipment datasheets, and specifications

• Support safety analyses and hazard evaluations for HVAC and mechanical systems

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure system designs meet all project requirements

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements

• Mentor junior engineers and review design work for quality and compliance (Senior-level)

• Oversee field inspections, equipment testing, and operations (Senior-level)

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required

• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required by project)

• Valid Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID

• Ability to complete pre-employment background check and drug screening (including marijuana testing)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering

• Knowledge of HVAC codes, standards, and industry guides

• Experience performing airflow calculations and HVAC system design for industrial or large-scale facilities

• Experience with HVAC equipment selection and specification

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• 2 years of HVAC design and construction experience (Junior-level)

• 6 years of HVAC design and construction experience (Senior-level)

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)

• Experience with Trane TRACE™ 700 and VariTrane™ Duct Designer software (preferred)

• Experience supporting complex infrastructure or engineering design projects (preferred)

Pay

$90,000 – $185,000 DOE

Schedule

100% Onsite | 9x80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
