Duties

• Assist in menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
• Prepare a variety of dishes using techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, stoves, ovens, and food processors
• Maintain strict food safety standards by following sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and hygiene practices
• Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals for dietary restrictions or health requirements
• Contribute to high-volume food production while maintaining quality control and consistency
• Serve meals with professionalism, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction during all stages of food service

Qualifications

• Previous dietary aide experience or food industry background preferred; experience in fine dining or restaurant settings is a plus
• Strong knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and kitchen safety protocols
• Skilled in various cooking techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and general food preparation
• Demonstrated knife skills and ability to operate kitchen equipment confidently
• Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation for large groups or high-volume settings
• Excellent food handling skills with an understanding of catering services and serving protocols
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness
