POSITION TITLE: Individual Academic Support Teacher (Gr. K-4) - Summer Academic Enrichment Program
LOCATION: Reed Intermediate School
START DATE: June 29, 2026
SALARY RANGE: $50/Hour or teacher per diem, whichever is greater. $50/Hour for non-district staff.
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification (013), (005), (305).
Experience teaching in the primary grades is required.
Strong knowledge of the math and language arts core standards for the primary grades (K-4) required.
Ability to assess and adjust to the specified needs of students and introduce the subject matter in a modified
approach.
Ability to equally support diverse learners, utilizing individualized and modified instruction.
Effective classroom management skills are imperative.
High regard for confidentiality.
Commitment to promoting a positive culture for students and staff.
Ability to follow directions and to be flexible with assignments.
Responsibilities:
Review the provided, student performance information to design and implement - quality and diverse, small
group and individualized instruction and activities for students in each, 50-minute session.
Ability to be flexible with assignments.
You will need to assess student performance at the beginning and conclusion of the program.
Prepare individual, student summer analyses for next year’s classroom teacher and other school personnel.
Commitment to the following schedule: June 29, 2026 through July 23, 2026 (Monday – Thursday). Planned time
off is strongly discouraged. You are compensated for the dates worked during the program.
Program hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. An additional half-hour (.5) is compensated on program days to allot for
planning.
Attend a mandatory, staff planning meeting on June 24, 2026 from 9am to 12pm. You are compensated for this
time.
Perform your duties and responsibilities, as described in the district’s Teacher Job Description.
Maintain the districts expected code of conduct and ethics.
Provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for all learners.
Other activities as assigned by the Program Administrator and or Director of Continuing Education.
This program is dependent on enrollment.
