Job Summary
The Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) Coordinator provides special education services and instructional support to secondary students with disabilities who are enrolled in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs. The CTI Coordinator ensures the delivery of appropriate accommodations, transition services, and employability skill development in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and state and local requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide regularly scheduled special education services to students with disabilities enrolled in CTAE classes, laboratories, and work-based learning environments in accordance with IEPs
- Serve as a liaison between Special Education and CTAE to ensure appropriate delivery of services, supports, and accommodations
- Collaborate with CTAE instructors to modify curriculum, instruction, and assessments based on individual student needs
- Serve as an active member of the IEP team, providing expertise related to CTAE pathways, transition planning, and employability skills
- Assist in career awareness, exploration, and planning through career interest inventories, assessments, and counseling
- Coordinate and support transition services aligned with postsecondary education, training, and employment goals
- Facilitate opportunities for job shadowing, work-based learning, industry tours, and entry-level employment experiences
- Promote development of employability skills, self-advocacy, self-determination, and appropriate workplace behaviors
- Collaborate with parents, administrators, special education staff, CTAE teachers, and community agencies to support student success
- Maintain accurate documentation of student services, progress, and transition activities
- Assist students in accessing postsecondary options and resources as appropriate
- Support student participation in CTSO leadership activities and community-based experiences
- Participate in required CTI professional learning, meetings, and program activities
- Ensure compliance with all state and local CTI, CTAE, and Special Education requirements
The Work-Based Learning Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing work-based learning programs that connect students with real-world career experiences. This role builds partnerships with employers, supports students in gaining workplace skills, and ensures compliance with educational and labor regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate work-based learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, and cooperative education programs
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations
- Match students with appropriate work-based learning placements based on career interests and goals
- Monitor student progress and workplace performance through site visits, evaluations, and regular communication
- Provide guidance to students on workplace readiness, professionalism, and career development
- Ensure all program activities comply with school policies, labor laws, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to align WBL experiences with academic curriculum
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of student placements and outcomes
- Organize training sessions, orientations, and workshops for students and employer partners
- Promote work-based learning programs within the school and community
Qualifications
- Valid Georgia Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Knowledge of CTAE programs, pathways, and work-based learning models
- Knowledge of transition planning and services for secondary students with disabilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional staff, families, and community partners
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
- Preferred experience in education, workforce development, or business partnerships
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of labor laws, career pathways, and workforce trends
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other data management systems
