Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Wire Harness Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This role involves assembling complex electrical wiring and harnesses used in various electronic and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and mechanical skills, with experience in PCB assembly, soldering, and interpreting schematics. Duties
- Assemble wire harnesses according to detailed schematics and IPC 610 standards
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to cut, strip, crimp, and connect wires
- Solder components onto PCB boards and surface mount technology (SMT) assemblies as required
- Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to ensure accurate assembly
- Test completed harnesses using ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols
- Assist with the inspection of components for quality assurance using calipers and other measuring tools
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) when necessary for testing or troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Proven experience with electrical wiring, soldering, and harness assembly in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of PCB assembly processes, surface mount technology (SMT), and IPC 610 standards
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters, and mechanical tools like calipers
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining, power tools, hand tools, and general assembly techniques
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity for precise work
- Prior experience in manufacturing environments involving electrical components or wiring is preferred
