Required Responsibilities

Supervisory and Management

• Supervise and manage the work of all the employees in the department.

• Motivate and inspire team members to perform above expectations through proper recognition methods and programs.

• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed per Newrest and client’s requirements.

• Communicate effectively with all crew members and team members.

• Hold team members accountable for all expectations.

• Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need

Operations/Logistics

• Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies' standards (for example, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), the Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.).

• Investigate and complete incidents/accidents documentation.

• Observe service operations, ensure all ramp safety, AOA safety, security rules, and regulations are followed, and report violations.

• Provide solutions to problems during transportation, unloading, offloading, or any other process.

Quality and Safety

• Ensure that all processes conform to the customer and Newrest specifications.

• Enforce safety processes and legal requirements for transportation and other processes.

Administrative Task

• Interview and determine the individuals to join your department.

• Approve time off requests and other leaves of absence.

• Mentor and coach team members and provide corrective actions as required.

• Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s in operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field preferred but not required.

• A minimum of 3-5 year’s experience managing employees in an inflight catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, the food industry, or a similar industry.

• Strong leadership experience with experience in turnaround environments

• Strong communication skills, including communicating with non-exempt employees at upper management levels.

• Ability to effectively handle conflict and de-escalate emotionally charged situations.

• Good understanding of OSHA, HR, and other employment laws

• Good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis

• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes

• Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Resilient self-starter who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment.

• Strong ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Excellent organizational and motivational skills

• Strong analytical skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage risk.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with site operations, functional leaders, external clients, and vendors.
