Job Description
Newport Industrial Fabrication is seeking experienced welders and welder/fitters to join the dayshift. Individuals will be responsible for performing steel fabrication duties such as cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and welding of steel assemblies. Individuals are required to pass a welder qualification test to perform code-required welds.
Shift: 48 hours per week, (4) 10-hour days Monday through Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm, (1) 8-hour day Friday. Additional overtime as needed.
Pay: $24-$26/hr. With successful completion of weld test. Starting pay based on experience.
Job Tasks
- Interpret/understand technical drawings containing weld symbols
- Interpret/understand Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) documents
- Operating pneumatic/electric tools. (Grinder, Dynafile, impact driver, etc.)
- Operating oxy/acetylene torch and or plasma cutting equipment
- Operating small equipment. (Tractor, fork truck, etc.)
- Operating fabrication equipment. (Band Saw, Press Break, Drill Press, etc.)
- Work independently and cooperatively in an active fabrication shop environment.
- Follow shop Person Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Cross-train as needed to perform work tasks when necessary.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
