Newman Regional Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) on the Women's Life Center Floor to provide high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary team members. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring a positive patient experience and promoting optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess maternal and fetal health administering treatments and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high- quality, patient centered care during labor, delivery and postpartum.
- Provide transitional care and intermediate stabilization for late-preterm or mildly ill newborns, including oxygen therapy, IV placement or monitoring, bilirubin/jaundice phototherapy, glucose monitoring, and gavage feedings
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and head-to-toe evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Carry out provider orders and coordinate required tests, procedures, and specimen collection.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and standards of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kansas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain within the department's required timeframe.
- Knowledge of nursing practices consistent with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and accepted standards of patient care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous acute care nursing experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
