Our pharmacy is open 6am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 7am to 3pm weekends and holidays.
The Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing, preparing, dispensing, and verifying medications while promoting safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy. This position provides clinical pharmacy services, monitors patient medication therapy, and serves as a valuable resource to patients and healthcare staff.
Responsibility
- Review, clarify, and verify medication orders entered by providers.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient drug therapy and pharmacy interventions.
- Supervise pharmacy technician activities, including sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Provide medication counseling and drug information to patients, providers, and staff.
- Initiate drug therapy and implement appropriate follow-up monitoring when applicable.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Participate in the orientation, education, and training of pharmacy and nursing staff.
- Assist with the education and development of pharmacy and nursing students.
- Complete required department competencies and continuing education hours necessary for licensure renewal.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards of practice, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Achieve competency within 60 days of hire for:
- USP 797/800 Cleanroom procedures
- Infusion pumps
- Automated dispensing machines
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Current Kansas Pharmacist License required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per hospital policy.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must complete annual competencies required for the position.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic medical record systems, and pharmacy information systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Leadership and decision-making abilities.

Salary : $130,001 - $165,100
