The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components. This includes working on wiring, fixtures, backup power systems, and electrical devices to ensure optimal functionality. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and test elements of electrical systems to locate faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and worn motor brushes.
  • Replace faulty components, including switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, wiring, and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical devices, circuits, and control systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to ensure electrical systems remain in excellent working condition.
  • Install new wiring, conduit, and electrical fixtures for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Plan and execute electrical installations for new construction or renovation projects.
  • Install and test backup power systems, including UPS systems, transfer switches, and generators, ensuring proper functionality and identifying faults when necessary.
  • Upgrade electrical panels and systems to meet modern safety codes and client needs.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to test electrical systems and components for proper functionality.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair or replacement.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in systems, appliances, or equipment and ensure timely and effective repairs.
  • Estimate materials needed for projects and provide accurate material and labor cost estimates.
  • Maintain detailed records of time, materials, and expenses for each work order.
  • Provide detailed reports on inspections, repairs, and upgrades to supervisors or clients.
  • Follow all safety protocols, industry regulations, and electrical codes to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend safety upgrades for electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address concerns, explain technical issues, and provide solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members, contractors, and supervisors to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions and industry events.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical equipment inventory, ensuring availability of critical components.
  • Inspect and repair electrical systems in HVAC units, lighting systems, and other building infrastructure.
  • Design and layout electrical systems based on project requirements and client specifications.
  • Assist with training apprentices or junior electricians, providing guidance and oversight as needed.
  • Stay updated on advancements in electrical technology and industry best practices.

Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
  • Licensing: Valid electrician’s license or certification (as per state requirements).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical effort.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying weather conditions.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools and equipment..

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with backup power systems, including UPS systems, transfer switches, and generators.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety protocols and electrical codes.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
