The Senior FP&A Analyst position will be responsible for preparing quantitative and analysis reports to support the strategic objectives of the organization. This position will work hand in hand with the VP of Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding and knowledge of Basic Accounting
- Ability to review, analyze and understand basic accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, etc and how they flow into below financial statements
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and review the 3 essential financial statements: Income Statement, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow
- Ability to review accounting trends and provide feedback to key personnel and management
- Ability to support month end, quarter end and year end close processes and audit functions
- Keen eye on detail – ability to spot errors and provide suggestions on improving quality and efficiency in accounting processes
- Ability to prepare and provide ad-hoc reports and reconciliations
- Forecasting and Analytics
- Overall - Provide analysis and financial support that aligns with company objectives
- Ability to comprehend and provide financial support to all departments within the company
- Ability to analyze financial statements and provide historical analytics, expected outcomes and forecasts
- Support and assist in preparation of annual budgeting processes
- Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly variance analysis reports
- Prepare and assist in improving efficiencies in financial processes as well as automated processes
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement across all areas of the business by, but not limited to the following
- Develop financial models that assist with cost savings & decision making
- Develop key financial metrics that can be measured daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly
- Ability to adapt to key changes in the industry and adjust metrics accordingly
- Ability to provide comparative analysis and identify trends
- Ability to prepare and produce ad-hoc reports
- Maintain knowledge and keep well informed of ever-changing regulations and policies in the industry

- Maintain excel models that serve as the primary source of facility-level financial projections
- Assist in the management of the monthly, quarterly and annual facility evaluation process by actively engaging in recurring operational and financial meetings and monitoring metrics to reflect progression of projects
- Participate in the budget and forecasting process by assisting with the formulation and collection of key assumptions, preparing facility-level budgets, and analyzing results
- Analyze and assist in explaining the variances between actual results and budgeted amounts
- Responsible for monthly SG&A variance analysis against budget and run-rate
- Responsible for preparing for monthly meetings with Administrators to go over their expenses, including tracking of COVID related expenditures
- Create monthly reporting trends to review expenditures, product mix and key performance metrics (“KPI”), such as staffing ratios, Patient Driven Payment Model (“PDPM”, Per Patient Day (“PPD”), for the Executive Management team
- Allocation of expenses (“shared resources”) to each respective facility
- Compute bonus incentive payments pursuant to established terms for Administrators and Senior Administrators
- Responsible for creating and updating competitive analyses by utilizing available resources
- Assist with due diligence process for mergers and acquisitions
- Perform various financial and operational analysis, as needed
- Participates in and/or leads projects of moderate to complex scope as assigned
- Accountable for the coordination, compilation, and verification of analytic interpretation of financial reports and analyses prepared by junior staff.
- Conducts ongoing user education and provides management consultation on the use and interpretation of analyses, reports, methodologies and source data and systems.
- Coordinates and interacts with any of the following: Finance Team, Administrative & Clinical Departments, as well as C-Suite Executives in providing analytical assistance within defined parameters
- May prepare and/or give presentations
- Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by Director of FP&A
Knowledge/ Critical Skills
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 3-5 years of previous financial analysis experience
- Ability to be flexible and manage time/change priorities
- Ability to efficiently develop thorough and intuitive analyses, and draw and communicate reasonable, accurate and defendable conclusions
- Experience in the following areas desirable: Financial Statement modeling, Monthly/Quarterly operational forecasting, Budget preparation, Monthly close – trend analysis, and Financial Reporting
- Knowledge of financial return metrics such as Internal Rate of Return (“IRR”), Return on Investment (“ROI”), etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
- Experience with Great Plains, NetSuite, Xchive, Macros (highly preferred)
- Skilled Nursing Home Industry is a strong plus
