As a (NASP)New Acquisition and Special Project Sr. Accountant you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements for assigned facilities. You will prepare monthly journal entries and other duties as assigned.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
The New Acquisition Accountant plays a key role in integrating newly acquired entities into the company’s financial systems and ensuring accurate financial reporting during and after the acquisition process. This role is responsible for performing due diligence, establishing accounting procedures for new acquisitions, and supporting post-acquisition integration efforts to align financial practices with company standards.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
The New Acquisition Accountant plays a key role in integrating newly acquired entities into the company’s financial systems and ensuring accurate financial reporting during and after the acquisition process. This role is responsible for performing due diligence, establishing accounting procedures for new acquisitions, and supporting post-acquisition integration efforts to align financial practices with company standards.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for the assigned facilities
- Assist with financial due diligence for potential acquisitions, including review of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Set up new entities within accounting systems, ensuring correct chart of accounts and financial structures.
- Record purchase price allocations, goodwill, and intangible assets in accordance with GAAP.
- Support integration of acquired entities into existing in-house accounting and reporting processes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidation entries related to acquisitions.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for newly acquired entities
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures for new acquisitions.
- Work cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, Treasury, AP, RCM, IT, HR, and operations to ensure smooth integration and compliance.
- Provide audit support related to acquisition transactions and integration activities, as well as Tax Filing and Cost Report, if applicable.
- Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Support accounting with existing month end close by performing reconciliations, analyzing and implementing process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Dynamic GP) and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills within departments and outside parties
- Deep understanding of accounting processes (revenue, payable, treasury, payroll and month end balance sheet reconciliations), revenue cycle experience in healthcare is a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High level of integrity and professional judgment
- Strong business acumen and understanding of acquisition processes
- Willingness to travel to newly acquired sites as needed for financial reviews, integration, and training
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to mergers & acquisitions (M&A), purchase accounting, or corporate consolidations.
- Managed Care Experience
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment
- Great Plains ERP
