We are seeking a Regional Infection Preventionist & Staff Development Consultant to lead infection control programs and clinical staff education across skilled nursing facilities. You will reduce healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs), ensure regulatory compliance (CMS, CDC, OSHA, DOH), and onboard/train nursing staff.
Salary: $100k-$150k
Key Responsibilities
Infection Prevention (50%)

Develop, implement, and monitor facility infection prevention & control plans (IPCP) per CMS F-tag F880.

Conduct weekly/daily infection surveillance (e.g., COVID-19, UTI, MDROs, respiratory outbreaks) and report to public health as required.

Lead outbreak management: isolation guidance, cohorting, PPE supply chain, and rapid testing protocols.

Perform environmental rounds, hand hygiene audits, and antibiotic stewardship activities.

Chair the Infection Prevention & Control Committee (IPCC) at each facility.
Staff Development (50%)

Oversee new hire orientation and annual mandatory in-services (e.g., abuse prevention, dementia care, emergency preparedness).

Track clinical competencies: BLS/CPR, infection control certification (CIC prep), bloodborne pathogens, and OSHA safety.

Coordinate with nursing leadership to address skill gaps via hands-on teaching, simulation, or e-learning modules.

Maintain employee health records (immunizations, TB testing, fit testing for N95s).

Ensure 100% compliance with state-mandated continuing education hours for licensed staff.
Regional Oversight

Travel between assigned facilities weekly to audit, train, and consult.

Prepare each building for state/federal surveys (DOH, CMS) – correct infection control deficiencies in real time.

Analyze HAI data (NHSN reporting) and present quarterly trends to regional leadership.
Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN required; BSN preferred).

Licensure: Active and unencumbered RN license in [State Name].

Certifications: Must obtain CIC (Certification in Infection Control) within 12–18 months of hire. CPR Instructor certification strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in long-term care / skilled nursing. Previous combined IP/SDC experience or strong clinical education background required. Regional/multi-facility experience a plus.

Travel: Reliable vehicle required; mileage reimbursed.
