Salary Range: $28-34 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workers’ Compensation Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of comprehensive Workers’ Compensation and safety programs, assisting with training, assisting with incidents, and assisting with compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Workers’ Compensation (WC) Program Development and Implementation
- Assist in setting up and maintaining Workers’ Compensation Files in Filevine
- Assist in updating and providing WC Team Contact Information to partners/vendors (Broker/ TPA / INTAKE-TPA / MPN Clinics et.al.).
- Assist in communicating WC policies, procedures, programs and processes to WC Team members to ensure WC claims and report-only matters are processed in a timely manner.
- Workers Compensation Claims Management
- Forward WC correspondence to the appropriate parties as needed.
- Pull, review, and file the MPN Work Status Reports daily and follow-up with the facility if there is an MPN clinic visit without a corresponding WC claim, ensuring claims are reported and processed timely.
- Update MPN Clinics re current facility contacts so the facility can obtain reports directly; otherwise, forward reports as needed until the facility gains access.
- Respond to MPN Clinic Billing (provide Carrier/TPA/Adjuster/Claim Number for WC; forward pre-employment billing to facility to handle directly).
- Follow up with the Facility re: Adjuster requests (e.g., Questionnaire/Query, DWC1, Wage Reports, Modified Duty Job Offers and other forms), ensuring timely WC reporting and documentation.
- Review Questionnaire/Query Responses to ensure that answers have been provided and that requested documents are attached and completed, to minimize delay/follow-up request(s) from Adjuster.
- Follow claim correspondence between Facility and Adjuster to ensure timely claim processing and call the lagging party directly, if necessary, to ensure a timely response.
- WC Incident Management & Investigation
- Review submitted WC documents to confirm completion of the Employee’s Report of Workplace Incident and the Supervisor Incident Investigation Report.
- OSHA Logs and OSHA ITA – Broker
- Confirm the OSHA Log Training Schedule with Broker and VPOs.
- Calendar Training and send Invites to facilities/associated team members.
- Follow up with facilities/VPOs to ensure attendance at the Training, timely reporting, and documentation.
- After Year-End Reporting, obtain and place in file copies of 300 / 300A / Form 301 / Confirmation of OSHA ITA successful submission.
- OSHA Programs - OSHA Consultant
- Confirm scheduled OSHA trainings with OSHA Consultant, ensuring facilities are well-versed in safety measures and protocols.
- Calendar trainings and send Invites after obtaining schedule approvals from respective VPOs.
- Follow up with facilities/VPOs to ensure attendance at the training.
- Workers Compensation and Safety Integration Across Facilities
- Collaborate with all facilities to ensure that WC and safety policies are fully integrated into daily operations and business processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience handling Workers’ Compensation, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across multiple facilities.
