Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role within NewCo Capital Group’s Legal Department in New York, NY. The Negotiator will focus on negotiating and settling defaulted or contested receivables financing and MCA transactions. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience, strong communication skills, and a results-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and resolve matters with merchants, attorneys, and debt settlement companies.
- Draft, review, and prepare settlement agreements and other legal documents.
- Initiate and maintain communication with counterparties throughout the settlement process.
- Track, update, and manage the status of a wide range of matters in internal systems.
- Collaborate with legal and collections teams to support strategic resolution goals.
Qualifications
- Required: Prior experience in negotiation and familiarity with receivables-based financing or Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) transactions.
- Strong skills in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and performance-driven.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a legal setting is a plus.
