Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Provide attentive toddler and infant care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive conduct and emotional regulation
- Follow early childhood education principles to support childhood development milestones
- Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary, adhering to mandated reporting laws and safety protocols
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children's progress and needs effectively
- Support youth programs by teaching life skills, fostering independence, and encouraging participation in group activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or youth programs teaching experience is a plus
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education best practices
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle challenging behaviors effectively
- Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and team members
