Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines and safety standards.
- Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism, courtesy, and attention to individual dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular sanitation, cleaning, and bussing tasks.
- Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, managing food storage, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed.
- Help with food production activities, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals.
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure proper sanitation practices are maintained at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and healthcare team members to deliver timely and efficient meal service that meets residents’ nutritional requirements.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or related healthcare environments is highly desirable.
- Background in food production, food service, or the food industry with knowledge of culinary techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations, including meal preparation and food handling procedures.
- Experience in food safety practices such as sanitation, cleaning, and proper food storage is essential.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Previous dietary aide or similar role experience demonstrates an understanding of serving residents with respect and professionalism.
