As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled Credit & Collections Manager to strengthen our financial operations and drive consistent cash flow.
Position OverviewThe Credit & Collections Manager oversees customer credit approvals, AR monitoring, progress billing support, and all collection activities. This role is essential in managing financial risk, enforcing lien rights, and partnering with Project Managers to keep project cash flow on track. Ideal candidates have experience in construction or related trades and understand the complexities of AIA billing, retainage, change orders, and notice-to-owner requirements.
Key Responsibilities• Review credit applications, analyze financials, and set customer credit limits.
• Monitor AR aging and lead weekly cash/collections meetings.
• Manage progress billing coordination, including AIA billing, lien waivers, and change order monitoring.
• Lead all collection efforts—calls, emails, issue resolution, payment negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with lien and bond rights (preliminary notices, lien deadlines, bond claims).
• Work closely with Project Managers and Service Department to resolve invoice disputes and accelerate payments.
• Maintain accurate credit files and job-specific documentation.
• Prepare AR/DSO reports and cash forecast updates for management.
Qualifications• 5 years of credit/collections experience in construction, subcontracting, or fire protection/MEP trades.
• Strong understanding of contract billing, AIA/SOV, retainage, and change orders.
• Knowledge of lien laws and notice requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Spectrum, Viewpoint, Foundation, etc.).
Preferred• NACM certification (CBA/CBF)
• Prior leadership or AR team management experience
