Production - Supervisor

Position Summary: 

This position will lead our Extrusion department. The ideal candidate will have a background in Manufacturing in a high-volume production environment. We are looking for someone with a hands-on, people-leadership approach with the ability to lead and participate in a high output environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Determine production requirements utilizing the daily schedule. 
2. Work with the other shift supervisor(s) to attain the most efficient and cost-effective way to complete scheduled orders in the extrusion areas.
3. Supervise and participate in the daily operation to assure on time completion of jobs to meet customer demand at a cost consistent with established standards
4. Communicate with other shift supervisors to ensure accurate handoff of instructions and any issues from the prior shift.
5. Supervise the work of direct reports and communicate with staff regarding questions.
6. Responsible for ensuring that assigned projects are being produced to meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
7. Assists in counting monthly inventory when needed.
8. Ability to learn and be safe and proficient in the machine set up/start up in the extrusion rooms
9. Measure silicone tubing and hose which includes the inside diameter (I.D.), the outside diameter (O.D.), wall thickness, and length.  Uses the following tools for measuring: rulers, tape measures, dial calipers, wall thickness, laser O.D. gauges and pin gauge.
10. Understand and properly apply measurement tolerances to the specified dimensions of tubing and hose.
11. Maintains a safe work environment; follows all company safety policies and holds team members accountable.  
12. Uses FIFO when using raw material for extrusion. Obtains and records accurate lot information and batch information. Clearly fills out paperwork on a timely basis. Follows company rules on documentation.
13. Trains new team members.
14. Completes housekeeping and logging of all Cleanroom activities daily.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. 2-3 years in a Supervisory role required
3. 5 years of silicone extrusion experience a plus
4. Ability to lift and mix 50 pounds of silicone rubber on a two-roll mill
5. Works with a sense of urgency with a customer first attitude
6. Computer literate, proficient in MS Word and Excel
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
8. Ability to communicate effectively with employees when delegating work and explaining procedures and processes
9. Excellent attention to detail while working to tight deadlines.
10. Must be well organized and able to respond quickly to changing situations
11. Team player with ability to work well on his/her own
12. Comfortable on ladders in order to string the line at start up
13. Strong collaboration with other departments is required
