The Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and revenue cycle operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This role ensures efficient front-end and back-end processes, including patient registration, insurance verification, billing, collections, and financial reporting. The Business Office Manager partners closely with clinical and operational leadership to drive financial performance, maintain compliance, and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
The Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and revenue cycle operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This role ensures efficient front-end and back-end processes, including patient registration, insurance verification, billing, collections, and financial reporting. The Business Office Manager partners closely with clinical and operational leadership to drive financial performance, maintain compliance, and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day business office operations, including patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, billing, and collections
- Manage the full revenue cycle to ensure timely and accurate charge capture, claim submission, and reimbursement
- Monitor accounts receivable and denial trends; implement strategies to improve collections and reduce outstanding balances
- Ensure accurate collection of patient financial responsibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and prior balances
- Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports, including A/R aging, cash collections, and payer performance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA and billing guidelines
- Supervise, train, and support business office staff, fostering a high-performing and service-oriented team
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to align documentation, billing practices, and operational goals
- Support audits, process improvements, and initiatives to enhance overall financial and operational performance
- Assist with the provider credentialing process & maintenance of physician licensure
- Indirectly supervises all facility personnel in collaboration with the Center Director
Education, Licensure or Certification:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Work Experience or Related Experience:
3-5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management required
- Prior ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting strongly preferred
- Supervisory or management experience required
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of insurance verification, medical billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR and practice management systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
