The Supreme Court, Civil Term, Bronx County, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Court Attorney-Referee to join its Law Department. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic legal environment, where you will serve as a special referee, tasked with analyzing and resolving complex legal issues in civil and criminal cases. As a Court Attorney-Referee, you will play a crucial role in assisting the court by conducting hearings, preparing findings, and providing legal research and analysis across various types of cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preside over and conduct hearings related to framed issues, attorney fee hearings, traverse hearings, and conferences on partition cases.
- Take testimony, assess evidence, and report findings of facts to the judge for use in decisions.
- Research and analyze complex legal issues and questions.
- Confer with attorneys and parties to resolve motions, particularly in foreclosure and discovery parts.
- Handle foreclosure and tax lien matters, including the preparation of confidential memoranda and drafting of legal opinions and recommendations.
Qualifications: Admission to the New York State Bar and Three (3) years of service in the Associate Court Attorney title; or Eight (8) years of relevant legal experience gained after admission to the New York State Bar.
Salary: $130,061 $ 4,920 Location Pay
