Under the general supervision of higher-level personnel, the incumbent may perform journey-level work in multiple trades, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, and motor equipment repair as required to maintain, repair, and improve buildings, facilities, and equipment. Duties may include both skilled and semi-skilled tasks, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of full-time experience* under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

- Perform skilled and semi-skilled trades work such as repairing, maintaining, or constructing structural components, fixtures, and equipment.
- Conduct inspections to diagnose issues and determine corrective actions.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, and related infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and codes.
- Perform medium to heavy manual labor as part of daily tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Collaborate with other staff, contractors, and vendors to complete work efficiently.
- Complete work orders, track materials used, and document progress in maintenance systems.
- Assist with maintenance of roads, paths, trails.
- Assist with snow removal and plowing.
- May supervise subordinate staff or assist with training.

- If verifiable, we will accept and prorate part-time and volunteer experience.
Additional Comments
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
- Must have the ability to operate a chainsaw and must complete OPRHP sawyer training or equivalent within the probationary period and maintain it as a term and condition of employment. This training will be provided by OPRHP.
- Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
