Duties Description
Under the direction of a higher-level scientist, the Research Scientist 2 will devote his/her time to biosafety level 2 and 3 laboratories activities and develop molecular and protein-based based assays and whole-genome sequencing assays for high-risk fungal pathogens. The Research Scientist 2 will also validate molecular and protein-based tests and perform additional duties as required. The incumbent will also perform routine testing of the laboratory, including QC/QA.

Minimum Qualifications
Non-Competitive: Bachelor's degree in the natural sciences, AND three years of professional post-degree research experience* in the appropriate field
Additional Comments
This position will require the incumbent will meet all Federal requirements for staff who perform clinical testing, including the educational requirements.
