Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator — Part-Time

New York Pain Management, a busy and established interventional pain management practice, is looking for an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient service, is comfortable working in a busy medical office, and understands that the front desk sets the tone for the patient's entire experience.
This is a long-term part-time position for someone who is looking for a consistent schedule and enjoys being part of a professional, close-knit medical practice.
What You'll Do
Front Desk & Patient Registration
- Welcome patients warmly and professionally.
- Check patients in and out efficiently.
- Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and ensure patient information is accurate.
- Obtain required signatures for financial and office policy documents.
Scheduling & Patient Accounts
- Schedule follow-up appointments and procedures.
- Coordinate procedure scheduling with the Surgery Center.
- Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances according to office policies.
- Accurately document and reconcile patient payments.
Phones & Administrative Support
- Answer and route incoming calls professionally and courteously.
- Maintain accurate patient information in the EMR.
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with administrative needs.
- Help keep the front office organized and running efficiently.
- Pitch in wherever needed to support the team and our patients.
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of medical receptionist or medical front office experience preferred.
- Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling.
- EMR experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy medical environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
- Comfortable interacting with patients who may be experiencing pain or anxiety.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
