Position Summary
The Compliance Specialist supports the Talent Acquisition & Compliance department in maintaining staff and program compliance across assigned sites. This role is responsible for supporting compliance processes, maintaining records, monitoring outstanding items, and assisting with day-to-day follow-up related to internal and regulatory requirements. The Compliance Specialist works closely with program leadership and internal departments to help ensure compliance-related documentation, tracking, and site support functions are maintained in an organized and timely manner. This position reports directly to the Manager of Talent Acquisition & Compliance.
Core Responsibilities
- Support compliance operations across assigned programs and sites.· Maintain compliance records, files, and related documentation.
- Assist with staff clearance and background check processes.
- Track outstanding compliance items and follow up as needed.
- Review staff files and related records for completeness.
- Update internal trackers, logs, and status records.
- Support site readiness for audits, visits, and reviews
- Assist with compliance-related documentation and submissions.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems.
- Communicate with programs regarding missing items and required follow-up.
- Support reporting and general compliance recordkeeping.
- Participate in site visits and related follow-up, as needed.
- Flag issues requiring escalation or further review.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the compliance function.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Talent Acquisition & Compliance team.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma
- 1–3 years of experience in compliance, operations, administration, onboarding, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with staff records, compliance tracking, or clearance processes.
- Familiarity with compliance-related systems and internal databases.
- Experience in an education, after-school, nonprofit, or youth-serving environment.

- This position is primarily performed in an office setting and requires frequent use of a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel to program sites, agency offices, or related meetings may be required.
- Must be able to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
