JOB DESCRIPTION
NOTE: WORK LOCATION IS AT 300 CADMAN PLAZA WEST, BROOKLYN, NY
The New York City Fire Department's Bureau of Fire Prevention seeks a Clerical Associate level IV in the Bureau of Fire Prevention. The successful candidate will: Record, review and maintain databases. Enter inspection activity records into Accela and the Environmental Control Board (BARMIS) system. Maintain unit files and ensure all folders and documentation are properly filed and accessible to inspectors prior to scheduled inspections. Assist with special projects to improve District Office Organization performance. Perform scheduling, and related administrative duties as assigned. Provide customer service to the public via email and telephone and assist inspectors with inquiries as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
