Role Description
The Grants and Development Manager is responsible for identifying, writing, and managing grant proposals, building and maintaining relationships with donors, and developing fundraising initiatives. This role includes creating compelling grant applications, tracking grant performance, preparing reports for funders, and working closely with the leadership team to align funding opportunities with the organization’s strategic goals. The position also involves managing donor databases, coordinating fundraising events, and nurturing donor engagement. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Council Bluffs, IA.
Qualifications
- Strong grant writing, editing, and proposal development skills
- Proficiency in fundraising strategies and donor engagement
- Experience in donor relationship management and maintaining donor databases
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations and funding landscapes
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising software is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to addressing homelessness or working with underserved populations
