About the Role
We are a growing manufactured housing manufacturer headquartered in Madill, Oklahoma, seeking a skilled CAD Drawing Engineer to join our design team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and construction plans used in the design and manufacture of high-quality, factory-built homes. You will work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure designs meet HUD standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, blueprints, and construction plans for manufactured homes and components
- Translate engineering and design requirements into finalized drawing specifications
- Collaborate with production staff to ensure drawings are accurate, manufacturable, and compliant with HUD and local building codes
- Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering changes, customer feedback, or production requirements
- Coordinate with the sales and design teams to integrate custom floor plans and customer options into standard designs
- Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files and documentation records
- Conduct design feasibility reviews and identify potential manufacturing challenges early in the design process
- Support quality control processes by verifying that production conforms to approved drawings
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
- 2 years of hands-on experience with CAD software — proficiency in AutoCAD required; SolidWorks, Revit, or Chief Architect experience a plus
- Experience in manufactured housing, modular construction, residential construction, or related manufacturing strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical, structural, and design engineering principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments
- Autodesk Certified Professional or similar CAD certification is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
