About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Production Manager to support daily operations at our manufactured housing plant in Madill, Oklahoma. This is a leadership role on the production floor, working closely with the Production Manager, department foremen, and cross-functional teams including Quality Control, Safety, Maintenance, Materials, and Human Resources. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to quality, safety, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Production Manager in overseeing daily plant operations and production scheduling
- Direct and coordinate production activities in the absence of the Production Manager
- Provide on-the-job guidance, mentoring, and training to Foremen and production employees
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures consistently across the production floor
- Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, quality control, and HR to optimize efficiency
- Review production, quality control, and operational reports to identify and resolve issues
- Monitor production schedules, timesheets, and labor utilization
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment as needed
- Assist in maintaining compliance with HUD construction standards and company quality requirements
- Support associate relations, conflict resolution, and workforce planning with HR
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; significant equivalent experience will be considered
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment
- Prior experience in manufactured housing, modular construction, or residential home building strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and manage production performance
- Strong working knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA compliance in a manufacturing setting
- Experience with production scheduling, quality control processes, and lean manufacturing principles a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with production management software a plus
- Must be able to walk the production floor, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role
