As a Behavior Technician (BT) at New Story Schools, you’ll provide one-on-one and small-group support to students in home and community settings. You’ll implement individualized plans that build academic, social, and life skills, helping each learner grow in confidence and independence. Working within a collaborative, mission-driven team, you’ll play a vital role in creating meaningful progress for students with special needs.
What You’ll Need
As a Behavior Technician (BT) at New Story Schools, you’ll provide one-on-one and small-group support to students in home and community settings. You’ll implement individualized plans that build academic, social, and life skills, helping each learner grow in confidence and independence. Working within a collaborative, mission-driven team, you’ll play a vital role in creating meaningful progress for students with special needs.
What You’ll Need
- Associate’s degree or a minimum of 48 semester credit hours from an accredited institution
- At least three months of professional or internship experience supporting individuals with behavioral or learning differences
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance coverage
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educators
- Ability to remain patient, adaptable, and professional in dynamic learning environments
- Deliver individualized instruction based on each student’s IEP goals
- Support students with autism and other learning differences in home and community settings
- Implement evidence-based strategies to promote academic, behavioral, and life skill growth
- Collect and report data to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions
- Partner with families, teachers, and clinicians to ensure consistency and support across environments
