What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apartment / Residential Maintenance Technician position at New Scotland Development Companies?
New Scotland Development Companies (https://www.newscotlanddev.com/) is in search of a maintenance technician to join our growing, energetic property management team that currently oversees 500 units in the Capital Region.
Please note that either electrical or plumbing experience or both is required for this position.
Primary duties will involve responding to service calls, assisting with apartment turnovers, grounds/building upkeep, etc. Ideal candidates must be able to work independently, have proper tenant etiquette, be a problem solver and have basic technology abilities. Experience with plumbing and electrical as well as general contracting skills is a plus.
The day-to-day of the job will consist of but not be limited to handling a variety of repairs across our many buildings in the Capital Region that reflect quality work, efficiency, attention to detail, and proper scheduling/coordination with tenants. Employees will be required to document all work completed in our systems and remain organized communicating with both the tenants and the main office throughout the process.
Candidates must have their own means of transportation with a valid driver's license. Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment background check is required as a condition of employment. The emphasis is on a good attitude on work ethic and not necessarily on experience, with our growing team we have the resources and knowledge to teach skills needed on the job but found you cannot teach 'a good attitude.'
