Position Job Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial health and strategic growth through detailed analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. In a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, the Senior Financial Analyst contributes both to day-to-day financial operations and long-term planning initiatives, ensuring that leadership has the information needed to make informed business decisions.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Support the annual budgeting process, including data collection, financial modeling, and preparation of budget summaries and presentations.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance versus budget, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for departmental and company-wide use.
- Partner with department heads to review budgets, develop forecasts, and provide financial guidance for decision-making.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end financial reviews, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Compile and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic and operational planning.
- Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and the competitive landscape to provide recommendations for strategic decision making.
- Assist with evaluation of potential investment opportunities including any mergers, acquisitions, and/or divestitures.
- Develop and maintain financial models and reporting tools to support business initiatives and scenario planning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and reporting accuracy.
- Support the preparation of materials for senior leadership, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA/CFA preferred.
- 4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or related finance roles, preferably in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment.
- This position requires U.S. work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship either now or ever!
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial software (NetSuite, Power BI, or similar tools preferred).
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
- Strong business acumen with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to take initiative.
