What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creative Assistant position at New Power Studios?
About New Power Studios
New Power fuses cinematic craft with digital-native innovation to build worlds that live beyond the screen. We reimagine timeless tales through the lens of technology, fear, and truth, bridging the gap between film and the future. Our audience isn’t just watching; they’re part of the movement.
Title: Creative Assistant (Full-Time) Location: Calabasas, CA (In-Person) Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am–5pm (approx.)
The Role: We are looking for a right-hand creative assistant for a production company building a premium cinematic universe. This is a hybrid role: 50% Digital/Creative and 50% Production/Runner.
We don’t care about your GPA. We care about your taste.
You are the right fit if you have an obsession with high-quality visuals, you understand why a shot works (and why it doesn't), and you can navigate the cultures of YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram fluently. You must be willing to get your hands dirty—literally. One hour you might be editing a reel in CapCut; the next you might be painting a set or running an errand.
What You’ll Do:
- Social Content: Edit and polish short-form videos (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) using CapCut or Reels, or Davinci. You must understand pacing, music selection, and "the hook."
- Research: Scout trends, find reference imagery, and pull clips from films/YouTube for mood boards.
- Production Support: General runner duties, set dressing, painting props, and assisting on shoot days.
- Administrative: Keep the creative organized.
What We Need:
- Impeccable Taste: You know the difference between "content" and "cinema."
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CapCut is required. Adobe Suite (Davinci/Photoshop) is a huge plus.
- Platform Fluency: You know what works on TikTok vs. what works on YouTube.
- Zero Ego: No task is too small. You take pride in painting a wall perfectly just as much as nailing an edit.
Along with your resume, please send a PDF or Link containing:
- 3 TikToks/Reels you think are brilliantly edited (not your own).
- A YouTube channel you think is underrated aesthetically.
- A link to your own mood board (Pinterest/Are.na) or an edit you’ve made.
