What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teaching Assistant position at New Pathways Preschool?
Overview
New Pathways Preschool provides early learning and care for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to support learning activities in our preschool and prekindergarten program. This position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (weekends and holidays off).
Responsibilities
- Engage children in play-based learning activities
- Provide supervision and care during outdoor playtimes, meal times, academic/childcare periods
- Support classroom management strategies by encouraging positive behavior and implementing Conscious Discipline.
- Help create an inclusive environment by working with children with diverse needs, including those with special education requirements.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Experience supporting students with varying abilities is advantageous.
- Familiarity with classroom behavior management techniques and educational compliance standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and team members.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a lively, positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
